Our Story

I was bred and born ...
Twelfth Night

Our journey began as two old friends sitting around an old oak table in a kitchen in Stratford-upon-Avon. Growing up, and still living, in the heart of Shakespeare’s hometown we imagined creating products which told a story, weaving together the beauty of Shakespeare's language and the richness of the nature we find ourselves surrounded by. Shakespeare is at the beating heart of all we do and we like to think that the plants and trees that we work with are a living link to the man himself and the townspeople from centuries past.

... but I do it more natural.
Twelfth Night

We celebrate the traditional crafts of natural dyeing with plants and working with local wood by hand, and as such there is a character and honesty in our products that can only come from working by hand with raw materials.

There is a kind of character in thy life
That to t'observer doth thy history
Fully unfold
Measure For Measure

More than merely decorative or useful, our items are blended of the past and present, uniting the triumph of Shakespeare's genius with the humbleness of his family roots.

For, being green, there is great hope
Henry VI, Part II

It’s an unavoidable fact that everything we make has an impact on the planet, but by choosing to work closely to nature, and as much as possible with natural materials from our hometown and the surrounding countryside, we endeavour to minimise our footprint as much as possible.
