... the gift hath made me happy.

The Two Gentlemen of Verona

Organic cotton and bamboo muslin cloth featuring a hand-drawn design and Shakespeare quote, and naturally dyed with willow from the banks of Shakespeare's Avon. Our gift wrapping cloth is a creative and eco-friendly way to wrap gifts, inspired by the Japanese art of Furoshiki. This unique cloth can be reused for wrapping, or as a napkin or decorative cloth, thus becoming a part of the gift itself, and is a sustainable and beautiful alternative to wasteful wrapping paper.  Our wrapping cloth is the perfect size for wrapping a hardback book, couple of paperbacks or box shaped object. Full instructions are found inside.

Our cotton is ethically grown and woven, and sewn by a women's co-operative in Kerala, India.

There is a willow grows aslant a brook,

That shows his hoar leaves in the glassy stream ...

Hamlet

The leaves and bark of willow yield a wonderful palette of colours in the dye bath, from pale yellows through shades of gold and apricot to dusky pinks and coral. As much as is possible, we have grouped the wrapping cloths by shade palette, but within this range there may be many variations.

Led by nature

Our naturally dyed items are produced in small batches, and the journey from plant to finished fabric is both attentive and unhurried. As the seasons turn we will be releasing limited drops of these unique products.

Using natural dyes made from leaves, bark, berries and flowers, each product in our Dyer's Hand collection offers beautiful soft tones and shades, with unique variations in colour, character and depth, creating a one-of-a-kind piece.  It is important to note that naturally dyed results will never be uniform, and occasionally the colour from the dye may settle in different areas of the fabric. We like to think that the colour of the finished cloth reflects the ever-changing seasons and nuances of nature.

Size: 60 x 60 cm
